The Internet is an arrangement of computers from all over the globe, connected through networks to share information and data. The statistics showed that about 1/3 of the world population has been access to the Internet. Two of the major services of the Internet are the World Wide Web (www) and e-mail. However, with changing times, the Internet has expanded into a multidimensional and multifaceted service. Apart from business and communication, the Internet has also gradually become the biggest entertainment medium. With the advent of the Internet, our world has shrunk into one gigantic village. But, like all the technological innovations of the modern era, there are certain negative aspects of the Internet that pose a great threat to its users and society as a whole such as data spill or cyber bullying. As a matter of fact, and indiscriminate and over-exposure of the Internet can lead to much social havoc. So in this essay my topic is 'Is the Internet is beneficial to people or not'. I thought the argument Internet is obviously beneficial to the human.
Nowadays most of the people are using the Internet. According to the economy journal of America Forbes the Internet User of the world 2.9 billion 23 million(2923000000). It is really huge number and it is about 40% of the population. Furthermore according to the same journal, the country that have the fastest Internet speed is the Republic of Korea. Nowadays Internet becomes the most important medium to people especially it is far more in Korea. By the pervading of the Internet, usefulness of the Internet become a hot potato. It is because some people are using the Internet beneficially but others do not. It totally depends on individual experience of Internet using. It is obviously true that the Internet is double edged sword because it not has only many advantages but also many disadvantages. However, in my case I have used the Internet quite beneficially so I argue that the Internet is beneficial to human.
First, we can communicate easily with any other people using the Internet. Thanks to the Internet the Earth became gigantic village so-called global village. We can communicate people who live in any part of the globe within a blink of an eye. It is extremely fast and efficient contrast to former one. Furthermore thanks to the development of the Internet and smart phone, the SNS(Social Network System) developed geometrically. According to the statistics of the NSO(National Statistical Office) 81.2% of the teenagers have accounts for SNS. By using the SNS, people can communicate with their friends or strangers immediately whenever they want to communicate. They can check responses and comments in real time. Also this communication is not limited to the country. We can keep in touch with foreigners even strangers by using Internet. It develops the solidarity between people.
Second, there are much information on the Internet. Internet is an endless storehouse of information. Whatever information on any topic on the Internet is available. Some of the prominent search engines such as, Google, Yahoo, etc are making this information easily accessible to its seekers. The information available on the net is so vast that, even in academics the use of the internet has now become inevitable. All of the students may have the experience that they copy or find information on the Internet. It is not only easy to access to good quality of information but also there is endless information on the Internet.
Third, with the internet, a new economic system has evolved, known as the e-commerce marketplace. The new economic concept involves exchange of goods and other services throughout the globe, over the internet. As we just click some products they will be delivered at our doorstep. We can compare prices on the Internet and can constantly consider until we decide without study clerk's face. Also we can buy everything that we want to buy. From clothes or cosmetics to books or foods. It is good for contemporary men who don't have much time to go shopping such as working mom or students. Furthermore sometimes many products are cheaper in online than off-line. Also people can accumulate points of the shopping malls. There are many benefits of online shopping.
Opponents of my argument would assert that there is dangerousness of data spill.
It is true that dangerousness of data spill is exist but everything has its own disadvantages and hazards. If we only worry and focusing on the hazards there are too many things to give up. I agree that the Internet poses a great threat to one’s personal data. However, most of them easily prevent by effort of individuals. There are two easy ways to prevent data spill. The first one is changing passwords. Frequent change of passwords can make the dangerousness of data spill noticeably low. The second one is a habit to log out whenever we use the Internet. By practicing these two things we can prevent our personal information easily.
The second opinion of the opponents might be age-inappropriate contents. It is true that by using the Internet, uploading the pornography becomes easier. However, in my opinion most of the age-inappropriate contents are not allowed to minor. They have to certify that they are adult. Besides, before the minor trying to access that context parents can prevent them from harmful websites by installing firewall or PC keeper. Also there is a censorship of government in Korea. Therefore it is not easy to access harmful context to the minor.
The third opinion of the opponents can assert is the Internet addiction. Internet addiction. However, Internet addiction is a kind of disease which few people have. It is their fault that they have Internet addiction. It is from their lack of self-direction. In addition, there are many programs that make us use the Internet less. Such as timer that we can set the time that the computer automatically turn off. If people want to reduce a time doing the Internet they should make efforts not to blame the Internet.
There are three reasons that I supports my opinions. Those are easy to communicate, easy to find information and benefits of e-commerce. Thanks to the development of the Internet human can develop faster and our lives become more convenient. Anyone can deny this fact. In addition, because of the Internet many industries are newly developing and our quality of life enhanced. Furthermore, if I want to do my homework which now I am doing, I have to use the Internet. And bring any student who don't have been used the Internet when he do his homework. I am sure anyone can the bring the student in Korea. It is obviously true that the Internet is beneficial to human.

Opponents of my argument would assert that there is dangerousness of data spill. They will argue that the use of Internet for banking, social networking, or other services, often makes our personal information vulnerable to theft. There are no fail-proof ways to securing names, account numbers, addresses, photos, and credit card numbers from being stolen or misused by thieving websites and individuals.
Unscrupulous hackers can access our sensitive information through unsecured connections by planting phishing software. Needless to say, the damage caused by having our identities misused and our accounts broken into, is often irreparable and most of all, embarrassing. I agree that the Internet poses a great threat to one’s personal data. However, most of them easily prevent by effort of individuals. There are two easy ways to prevent data spill. The first one is changing passwords. Frequent change of passwords can make the dangerousness of data spill noticeably low. The second one is the habit to log out whenever we use the Internet. By practicing these two things we can prevent our personal information easily.
The second opinion of the opponents might be age-inappropriate contents. They can argue that pornography and age-inappropriate content is one of the disadvantages of the Internet. The worst being underage porn, which is largely rampant in the deeper parts of the web. It is the lack of control over the distribution and unrestricted access of pornographic material, which is detrimental to children. All that parents can do, is lock harmful sites and monitor the sites viewed by their children. Pornography is not just frowned upon by most societies, it's also banned by some. The third opinion of the opponents can assert is the Internet addiction. There is an addiction for everything that pertains to the web and that includes excessive surfing, online gambling, social networking, and gaming addiction. There are now psychiatric clinics and doctors that specifically cater to resolving the problems created by the Internet. These addictions create both physical as well as mental issues that can lead to health complications if left unattended. It is ironic that, while it is easy to find plenty of online support for agoraphobia, the Internet itself can be a big cause or trigger for it. The link between obesity and the Internet is rather easy to understand. The more one sits in front of the computer, the lesser one exercises. At the end of the longish list of physical and emotional maladies, is depression. Since all problems are so deeply linked with one another and with the Internet, it isn't uncommon for people to be afflicted with multiple issues. Recent studies and research have gone deep enough actually to differentiate between compulsive Internet use and excessive Internet use. Furthermore, thanks to smart phones, holding a simple face-to-face conversation seems out of the ordinary as compared to chatting online. However, there is a jump in the logic in this opinion. For example shortage of exercising time can occur not only because of the Internet but also, because of laziness or excessive studying. It is not right to beg the question that most problems are because of the Internet using. There are many programs that make us use the Internet less. Such as timer that we can set the time that the computer automatically turn off. If people want to reduce a time doing the Internet they should make efforts not to blame the Internet.
There are three reasons that I supports my opinions. Those are easy to communicate, easy to find information and benefits of e-commerce. Research 4-Cons

  • Internet poses a great threat to one’s personal data. As people use online banking and other transaction services, there lies a great risk of the account details, credit card numbers etc being stolen, through unsecured connections. Spywares, hacking software are responsible for many credit card frauds which have become a common occurrence nowadays.

  • With social networking sites, people are getting more and more engrossed in the virtual online world. As a result, social and family ties are getting thinner by the day. With the growing popularity of online games, children hardly participate in physical activities and games which can be extremely detrimental to their all-round development.
  • Computer viruses are also carried through by the internet. Computer viruses are malignant programs which can cause malfunctioning of your systems and may even lead to loss of data. Though there are anti-virus software available in the market but, the rate at which the viruses are getting more and more complex is alarming.
  • With the surge in the use of the internet, the reading habit of the current generation is also on a steep decline. Previously, reading used to be a great source of amusement and knowledge but the internet, with its many distractions, has turned into a bane of leisurely reading.

    Classical Argument Outline

    Introduction
The Internet is an arrangement of computers from all over the globe, connected through networks to share information and data. It has been estimated that around one-third of the population of the world, has access to the Internet. But, like all the technological innovations of the modern era, there are certain negative aspects of the Internet which pose great threat to its users and society as a whole. As a matter of fact, and indiscriminate and over-exposure of the Internet can lead to much social havoc.
    Narration
Nowadays most of people are using the Internet. According to the economy journal of America Forbes the Internet User of the world 2.9 billions 23 millions(2923000000). It is really huge number and it is about 40% of the population. Furthermore according to same journal, the country which have the fastest Internet speed is Republic of Korea. Nowadays Internet become the most important medium to people especially it is far more in Korea. By the pervading of the Internet usefulness of the Internet become hot potato. It is because some people are using Internet beneficially but others are not. It totally depends on individual experience of Internet using. It is obviously true that the Internet is double edged sword because it not only has many advantages but also many disadvantages. However, in my case I have used the Internet quite beneficially so I argue that the Internet is beneficial to human.
    Confirmation
First, we can communicate easily with any other people using the Internet. Thanks to the Internet the Earth became gigantic village so called global village.
Second, there are much informations in the Internet. Internet is an endless storehouse of information. Any kind of information, on any topic under the sun is available on the internet. Some of the prominent search engines such as, Google, Yahoo, etc are making this information easily accessible to its seekers. The information available on the net is so vast that, even in academics the use of the internet has now become inevitable. All of students may have the experience that they copy or find informations on the Internet. It is not only easy to access to good quality of informations but also there are endless information on the Internet.

Third, with the internet, a new economic system has evolved, known as the e-commerce marketplace. The new economic concept involves exchange of goods and other services throughout the globe, over the internet. As we just click some products they will be delivered at our doorstep. We can compare prices on the Internet and can consider constantly until we decide without study clerk's face. Also we can buy everything that we want to buy. From clothes or cosmetics to books or foods. It is good for contemporary men who don't have much time to go shopping such as working mom or students. Furthermore sometimes many products are cheaper in online than off line. Also people can accumulate points of the shopping malls. There are many benefits of online shopping.
    Refutation and Concession
Opponents of my argument would assert that there is dangerousness of data spill. They will argue that the use of Internet for banking, social networking, or other services, often makes our personal information vulnerable to theft. There are no fail-proof ways to securing names, account numbers, addresses, photos, and credit card numbers from being stolen or misused by thieving web sites and individuals.
They can argue that pornography and age-inappropriate content is one of the disadvantage of the Internet. The worst being underage porn, which is largely rampant in the deeper parts of the web. It is the lack of control over the distribution and unrestricted access of pornographic material, that is detrimental to children. All that parents can do, is lock harmful sites and monitor the sites viewed by their children. Pornography is not just frowned upon by most societies, it's also banned by some. The Internet makes uploading shocking content so easy, that we end up coming across inappropriate words and images, despite not wanting to. However, in my opinion most of age-inappropriate contents are not allowed to minor. They have to certify that they are adult. Besides, before the minor trying to access that context parents can prevent them from harmful web sites by installing firewall or PC keeper. Also there is a censorship of government in Korea. Therefore it is not easy to access harmful context to the minor.

The third opinion of the opponents can assert is the Internet addiction. Recent studies and research have gone deep enough to actually differentiate between compulsive Internet use and excessive Internet use. Furthermore, thanks to smart phones, holding a simple face-to-face conversation seems out of the ordinary as compared to chatting online. However, there is jump in the logic in this opinion. For example shortage of exercising time can occur not only because of the Internet but also, because of laziness or excessive studying. It is not right to beg the question that most problems are because of the Internet using. There is many programs that make us to use the Internet less. Such as timer which we can set the time that the computer automatically turn off. If people want to reduce time doing the Internet they should make efforts not to blame the Internet.
    Summation
There are three reasons that I supports my opinions. Those are easy to communicate, easy to find information and benefits of e-commerce. Thanks to the development of the Internet human can develop more fast and our lives become more convenient. In addition, because of the Internet many industries are newly developing and our quality of life enhanced. It is obviously true that the Internet is beneficial to human.

As the Internet have commercialized in global era, the pros and cons of the Internet have rised.
    2. What types of source am I defend my thesis?
    1. Data spills 2. Information not appropriate to the age 3. Internet addiction
    3. Are my arguments mostly based on evidence, logic or emotion?

First, we can communicate easily with any other people using the Internet. Thanks to the Internet the Earth became gigantic village so called global village.

    Narration [week 7]

It has been estimated that around one-third of the population of the world, has access to the Internet. Two of the major services of the Internet are the World Wide Web (www) and e-mail. Reserach

    Research 2 - Disadvantages

    Theft of Personal Information
The use of Internet for banking, social networking, or other services, often makes our personal information vulnerable to theft.

    Spamming
Spamming refers to sending unwanted e-mails, which serve no purpose and needlessly obstruct the computer system. Such illegal activities can be very frustrating as it makes it slower to access our email accounts and makes the entire service unreliable for consumers.

Spammers usually use bots that bombard the receiver with an endless line of advertisements. This can prove to be increasingly perplexing, as it keeps getting mixed with our more important emails. Fortunately, email service providers often have security systems in place to guard against spamming. Fortunately, it is possible to report an email as spam, so that all emails from the same email id or IP address, are blocked.
    Malware Threats
One of the most annoying problems with the Internet is the ease with which any malware can infect our computers. Internet users are often plagued by virus attacks that harm their computers and important files. Virus programs are inconspicuous and may get activated simply by clicking a seemingly harmless link. Computers connected to the Internet are extremely prone to IP targeted virus attacks that may end up crashing the system completely.

Internet virus can be of three types. The first type of virus affects files and goes directly for a particular file or file type. The second type harms system and executable boot files. These can be particularly nasty, as they can effectively stop the computer from starting again. Lastly, there's the macro virus, which is the most common as well as the most harmless of them all. The macro virus simply keep changing things like symbols on word files. The type of virus that can replicate and spread itself is known as worms. When a virus is disguised as something else, it's known as a trojan.
    Age-inappropriate Content
Pornography and age-inappropriate content is perhaps the biggest disadvantage of the Internet.

    Social Isolation, Obesity, and Depression
The biggest problem with having the Internet is, its ability to create rifts between the real and virtual world. The virtual world can often seem so alluring that once hooked, going back to real life seems daunting.

Recent studies and research have gone deep enough to actually differentiate between compulsive Internet use and excessive Internet use. Furthermore, thanks to smartphones, holding a simple face-to-face conversation seems out of the ordinary as compared to chatting online.

    [Research]

    Communicable diseases[edit]

The 2012–2013 WHO budget identified 13 areas among which funding was distributed.[17] Two of those thirteen areas related to communicable diseases: the first, to reduce the "health, social and economic burden" of communicable diseases in general; the second to combat HIV/AIDSmalaria and tuberculosis in particular.[17]
In terms of HIV/AIDS, WHO works within the UNAIDS network and considers it important that it works in alignment with UNAIDS objectives and strategies. It also strives to involve sections of society other than health to help deal with the economic and social effects of the disease.[18] In line with UNAIDS, WHO has set itself the interim task between 2009 and 2015 of reducing the number of those aged 15–24 years who are infected by 50%; reducing new HIV infections in children by 90%; and reducing HIV-related deaths by 25%.[19]
Although WHO dropped its commitment to a global malaria eradication campaign in the 1970s as too ambitious, it retains a strong commitment to malaria control. WHO's Global Malaria Programme works to keep track of malaria cases, and future problems in malaria control schemes. WHO is to report, likely in 2015, as to whether RTS,S/AS01, currently in research, is a viable malaria vaccine. For the time being, insecticide-treated mosquito nets and insecticide sprays are used to prevent the spread of malaria, as are antimalarial drugs – particularly to vulnerable people such as pregnant women and young children.[20]
WHO's help has contributed to a 40% fall in the number of deaths from tuberculosis between 1990 and 2010, and since 2005, it claims that over 46 million people have been treated and an estimated 7 million lives saved through practices advocated by WHO. These include engaging national governments and their financing, early diagnosis, standardising treatment, monitoring of the spread and impact of tuberculosis and stabilising the drug supply. It has also recognised the vulnerability of victims of HIV/AIDS to tuberculosis.[21]
WHO aims to eradicate polio. It has also been successful in helping to reduce cases by 99% since the Global Polio Eradication Initiative was launched in 1988, which partnered WHO with Rotary International, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), as well as smaller organizations. It works to immunize young children and prevent the re-emergence of cases in countries declared "polio-free"
